Little Richard Passed Away (December 5, 1932 – May 9, 2020)

MACON, Ga. (WTIX) — Rock n’ Rock pioneer Little Richard has died. According to his son Danny Penniman, he passed away at his home in Nashville early Saturday.
Born as Richard Wayne Penniman on Dec. 5, 1932, he grew up in a house in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood of Macon. He had deep roots in the religious community there and in gospel music. He would later become known as the ‘Architect of Rock n’ Roll’. His music influenced many in the entertainment business.
Little Richard dominated the music charts in the 1950s with such hits as ‘Good Golly Miss Molly’, Lucille’, ‘Long Tall Sally’, ‘The Girl Can’t Help It’ and many more.
He was 87.
